Muvia IndustrialField

Drivers

Your machines talk. Muvia listens.

Drivers run on the node, read the variables you pick and turn them into named tags. Where the protocol allows it they can write too.

Illustrative example

Five field protocols and a simulator.

  • Siemens S7

Reads data blocks, inputs, outputs and markers by address, and structures defined on the PLC. Read and write.

  • OPC UA

Reads the nodes of an OPC UA server at regular intervals or by subscription, when a value changes. Read and write.

  • Modbus TCP and SQL Server

Registers and coils of PLCs, meters and instruments over TCP networks; new rows of a line SQL Server table. Read only.

  • SEW-Eurodrive and simulator

Monitoring data and parameters of SEW drives; test signals generated on the node, to build dashboards and alarms before the line is connected.

From PLC to tag, in three steps

  1. 01

    Pick the driver

In Node configuration you add a driver to the node and choose the protocol.

  2. 02

    Name the variables

Addresses or nodes to read, each with its tag name. They can be declared before the machine is even installed.

  3. 03

    The data flows

The configuration reaches the node and values start flowing to Muvia.

Frequently asked questions

Many controllers already expose an OPC UA server or a Modbus TCP interface. Before you start, ask an engineer to confirm the right route for your machine.

Tell us which machines you run. We'll tell you how to read them.

PLC brand, protocol, how the floor is connected: with those three answers, in a demo with one of our engineers, we show you how Muvia Industrial puts line data next to the rest of the business.
