PlatformConnect
A node on your network reads the systems you would rather not expose
The Data gateway module installs a node on the company network. Acquisition drivers run on the node, read the IT systems you point them at and bring the values into Muvia as named measures.

Illustrative example
Acquisition drivers for IT systems
Databases
The new rows of a SQL Server table, or queries against PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
Services and metrics
Queries against REST/HTTP services, and a Prometheus server or the /metrics page of its exporters.
Inside your network
The node sits where the systems are, so they need not be opened to the outside. The passwords the drivers use stay sealed on the node.
A module of its own
Data gateway is bought without Muvia Industrial. The protocol drivers for machines and PLCs stay with Muvia Industrial.
From the system to the measure, in three steps
- 01
Install the node
An administrator registers a node on a machine of the company network.
- 02
Add a driver
In node configuration you pick the type from cards grouped by family, then say what it connects to.
- 03
Use the data
The measures reach Muvia and are read in datasets, dashboards and alarms, beside your other sources.
In detail
- SQL Server
- Reading the new rows of a table
- Queries against IT systems
- REST/HTTP services and MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL and Oracle databases
- Prometheus
- A Prometheus server or the /metrics page of its exporters
- Adding a driver
- In two steps: first the type, chosen from cards grouped by family, then what it connects to
- Node groups
- A source reads through the first online node among those the group trusts
- Module

Frequently asked questions
No. These drivers read IT systems and come with the Data gateway module. The drivers for PLCs and field protocols, such as Siemens S7, OPC UA and Modbus TCP, belong to Muvia Industrial.
Live Ingest copies sources into tables on a schedule. Gateway drivers run on a node and bring values into Muvia as measures; a source can also read the systems of the internal network through the node.
On the node: the passwords a driver uses stay encrypted there.

We start from a real question your business has and walk the path from source to dashboard with your systems, not a demo dataset.
